Welcome to Nourish Now!

Tackling the issue of hunger that affects so many individuals and families in Montgomery County, Maryland.

Nourish Now is a 501(c) (3) non-profit that provides assistance to those in need by collecting donations and surplus food from our community and local restaurants. Donated food is distributed to families, low-income apartment complexes, homeless shelters, and other organizations that assist in feeding the hungry. 

About Nourish Now

 

On May 26th 2011 Nourish Now began our quest to help alleviate hunger in Montgomery County and the surrounding areas. In 2009, 6.7% of Montgomery County residents were below the poverty line, which equates to over 64,000 people who live with food insecurities.

Since our inception, we have donated in excess of 25,00lbs of food which has fed over 13,150 residents.



What We do

 

Nourish Now has forged relationships with local businesses and restaurants in order to secure donations of surplus food throughout Montgomery County as well as Washington, DC.
Our team collects the donated food on a daily basis and then packages and delivers it to families, shelters, food banks, low-income apartment complexes and other organizations that assist in the fight against hunger.  We continue to build more relationships with the help of our community in order to broaden the area we can offer assistance to. 

 

Through community out-reach programs and educational tips posted on our website and other social media outlets, Nourish Now aims to help raise awareness so people can live a healthier life style without spending too much money.
